I spent the whole day in the Opawskie Mountains, walking alone. Around midnight, I stood atop Srebrna Kopa. The wind was sharp. I hadn't slept and had to keep moving until sunrise.
SOLSTICE is a photographic fieldwork rooted in a solitary, sleepless passage through the Opawskie Mountains. Carried out as a continuous stretch of walking without rest, the project blurs the boundaries between landscape and consciousness, body and image.
Working with analog photography, including Polaroids, the series captures both the visible terrain and a shifting internal topography of isolation, exhaustion, silence, and heightened sensitivity. The absence of sleep served as a method of disorientation — breaking routine, allowing raw perception to emerge, and letting the senses dictate the rhythm.
Deprived of rest, the body becomes animal again.
